Assessment and Evaluation
At Kannadivappa International School, we believe in a robust assessment system that supports our educational philosophy of learning through experimentation and collaboration. Our assessment practices are designed to foster intellectual growth, critical thinking, and a love for lifelong learning. We aim to create an enriching experience for our students by integrating field experiences, integrated learning projects, and hands-on activities, ensuring that learning is not just teacher-driven but a shared journey of discovery.

Types of Assessment

Formative Assessments
These are conducted throughout the academic year to monitor student progress and provide ongoing feedback. They include quizzes, classwork, and participation.

Summative Assessments
Conducted at the end of each term, these assessments evaluate student learning against the curriculum standards.

Continuous Assessments
A blend of formative and summative assessments that provide a comprehensive view of a student’s performance over time.
Evaluation Criteria
Our evaluation criteria are aligned with the educational standards of the Tamil Nadu State Board and the provisions of the RTE Act 2009. We assess students based on a variety of criteria to ensure a fair and comprehensive evaluation:
Periodic Assessments (PA)
Conducted thrice per term, these assessments account for 40 marks in each term.
Extra Assignments
Term reports, projects, charts, and models.
Summative Assessments (SA)
Major examinations conducted at the end of each term, accounting for 80 marks.
Class Participation
Active involvement in class discussions, attentiveness, discipline, and creative thinking.
Record Maintenance
Regularity, punctuality, accuracy, and neatness in class and homework.
